Plastic Pollution and Our Bit for the Environment

It’s impossible to imagine a world without plastic – from our morning shampoo and conditioner, to weekly shopping and the bags we put it in, to the payments we make on our cards. Versatile, inexpensive and essential for an innumerable amount of items day in, day out. Yet as a responsible company we understand the problems that plastic can and does inflict on our planet. As ethical manufacturers, we take responsibility for our production lines – something that’s critical for all companies to do, that harness the qualities of plastic to create solutions.

The Environment and Our Company Ethos

We’re fully committed to keeping the planet clean and driving down the prevalence and impact of plastic for communities and the generations yet to come. We invest heavily in ensuring our cutting edge manufacturing processes are as efficient as possible, and we also create a number of our milk crate products by introducing recycled material to the plastic mix.

Every single one of our black colored milk crates that leave our factory line uses 80-85% Virgin resin, and 15%-20% re-processed resins – critically re-introducing used plastics back into the process. The fact that they’re recycled in no way affects the strength or quality of the crate – providing eco-friendliness and the same quality that our customers have become accustomed to.

Ethically Minded? Let’s Discuss Recycled Percentages and Strength

We frequently speak with clients who wish to up the amount of recycled product in their milk crates (this is typically requested by companies who have defined their own stringent environmental policies). We can increase the proportion of re-processed resin without issue, to meet your exact specifications. This is not only better for the planet, but it also drives down the cost of each milk crate. However with that said, the less virgin resin a crate contains, the weaker it becomes. If you’re unsure as to what percentages you should work to, contact our team. Our knowledgeable team members can explain the balance between the two forms of resins and discover a solution to best fit your needs.
